FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We’ve assembled an historical audio narration for 31 of the top Washington, DC monuments and landmarks. We give you direction to each stop on the tour which features several minutes of narration about that landmark. The media broadcast or “stream” is presented primarily in audio with some instances of photos and other visual information provided. To provide that flexibility, the tour is presented in an mp4 format even though the tour is intended to keep your eyes viewing the landmarks as we describe specific features you may otherwise not notice.

You will be given a screen featuring an interactive map and map markers for of each landmark on the tour. The map is also surrounded by a list of the landmarks organized by closest proximity to your current location. For directions to that landmark from your present location, click on the “directions” link under that landmark to get walking, driving or biking directions. Once you arrive, simply select that landmark listing or map marker representing that landmark. A menu screen will open for that landmark where you select to play or pause the tour stream as you wish.

Each tour is streamed as an MP4 file even though the majority of the presentation is just audio. In some instances, we display photos, historical dates and other supporting information. As a result, we felt MP4 is best to present the information.
